Techcrunch Leaks Twitter Documents

On Thursday, July 16th, Techcrunch published an article that contained several very confidential documents that belong to none other than hottest trend on the internet at the moment: Twitter. The documents cover everything from the company’s goals for the year to assessing potential threats like Facebook and Google. Whoa. These documents were supposedly leaked by a hacker, and there is one thing is on everyone’s mind: Is TechCrunch liable for the damages that Twitter is going to take from this? For a website that has millions of users and climbing, Twitter probably isn’t too pleased with Techcrunch for parading all of their mischievous plans for everyone to see and talk about.

Bad publicity may be good publicity for celebrities, but it surely isn’t good publicity for Twitter. Despite the “happy go lucky” vibe the Twitter website displays, several of the documents look downright malicious in their strategy to take over the internet. To the outside world, it seems that Twitter rose to popularity riding on the wave of the simple “quick communication” trend. However, after reading these documents, it seems like Twitter has planned everything from the beginning. And now the whole world knows about it, thanks to Techcrunch. There are whispers of a lawsuit in the air.

Because of the leak, Twitter is already receiving tons of negative comments. But is it really Techcrunch’s fault that the big bad truth about Twitter is now in the open? After all, Techcrunch didn’t steal the documents, the files were merely leaked to the website via hacker. After all, Techcrunch reports on the latest news in technology, and what is more related to that than a handful of top-secret documents from the website that is changing the way the internet works? They were just doing their job. Then again, perhaps bad publicity is just what Twitter needs to get more people interested and help them on their way to ruling the internet.
