Experts consider it as a commercial keylogger that records information as they are entered in the computer for the purpose of monitoring the user. The recorded information is stored and transmitted to the person who installed the program.

Reports from this field claim that the ActMon Computer Monitoring application can operate in stealth mode. It can also log keystrokes and capture screenshots. Moreover, some computer experts say that the ActMon Computer Monitoring application has the capability of recording chat conversations. It records all URLs of visited websites, IM and e-mails. It also generates the ActMon Computer Monitoring application registry subkeys as well as the registry entries that enable the software to run every time Windows starts. After these, different registry entries are modified.

Security experts claim that the ActMon Computer Monitoring application is usually used in a business setting to help employers monitor the activities of their employees. Despite the beneficial uses of this application, studies consider it a malware if used for unauthorized purposes or without the consent of the person being monitored.

The Actmon Software is allegedly the author of the ActMon Computer Monitoring application.
